Synopsis/Sight/Situation:
Hi guys! I just wanted to break down how my blog posts work. If you are in a medical profession, you’ve seen a SOAP (subjective, objective, assessment, plan) note before and this is somewhat familiar. If you’re not, you’ve probably seen this method for studying scriptures (scripture, observation, application, prayer). Or, you just think I have an unhealthy obsession with cleaning. SOAP is an acronym made popular in the medical community to systematically explain the history of patients. I’ve tailored it to fit the topics on my blog.
Opinion/Objective/Observation:
While everyone that reads here may not be a member of the medical profession, everyone likes a consistent way of doing things. On my blog, I am hoping to provide a way for you to know what to expect and when. Check out what SOAP means below:
S – Synopsis/Sight/Situation
In this section, you will get the highlight of what the post is going to be about. If the post is related to a DIY project, outfit or fitness, it will start with a synopsis. If I’m doing my Dora the Explorer thug thizzle, it will focus on a specific sight. The last one is my personal favorite and the one that I hope inspires more people to increase their faith and belief. “Situations” will outline the issue and how it was resolved (this is better known as a testimony).
O – Opinion/Objective/Observation
This is where the meat and potatoes will live. This section will house all of the lists, steps, the long drawn out stories and explanations that were given under the “S”. It will be structured so that you can find what you need or how to do it yourself. Think of this as the recipe (you might find one or two of those here too). If you’ve noticed, the explanation of this post is all right here for your reading pleasure and if you’re still here, woot woot!!
A – Ask Yourself/Actionable Items/Adventure
It’s my sincere hope that each post will prompt you to think or reflect on some part of your life, so I want you to ask yourself questions like “How can I be a better me by…?”, “What can I do to fail forward in…”, “Who else would be better off if I…?”. You get the idea. Other times, I might have some things that you can do yourself to improve your productivity or (my personal fave) organize a section of your home. Lastly, in my quest to see all of my country, I may just have some adventures for you to check out in different cities and states!
P – Prayer/Piece of Ryce/Proposition/Point of It All
Think Oprah’s final message. She left you with something to take with you in addition to the latest gadget and her favorite things. That’s what I want to do for you. I started this blog so that I could give people hope when they hit a wall in life. What I’ve found is that you need uplifting even when things are going just fine.
So, once you’ve experienced what the post is all about, learned the fine details and gassed yourself up to do something, I want to give you a tangible thought, reflection or a prayer to take away. It may be sharing something you’ve been told before or something brand new. Either way, I want you to feel better about you in some way after every post.
Ask Yourself/Actionable Items/ Adventure:
What do you think you’ll enjoy most about what Ryce will share here? What places do you have left to explore? How many DIY projects do you think you’ll actually try?
Whatever the answers are, I hope you come back and join the conversation. Share your triumphs and more importantly your trials. We all get better when we share.
Prayer/Piece of Ryce/Point of It All:
A great musician once said, “I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my …” My words and photos will be my medium on this site and while I hope they are consumed and appreciated. My goal isn’t to be everyone’s cup of tea; it’s to be the best cup for those who need it. Also, I am somewhere between 2Pac and Proverbs 31. I’m not a killa, but don’t… make me have to pray for you. I’m a work in progress and while I strive to be Christ-like, I’m not Him… not even close. It’s my prayer that inspiration, faith, joy, hope and peace find their way into every reader that finds my little corner of the web.
Buckle up. This is going to be a wild one!
